YouTube yesterday closed the main Hamas channel in the occupied West Bank after pressure by the Israeli authorities, Palestinian Safa news agency reported.
In a statement, Hamas said the closure of the YouTube channel came in the wake of Israeli measures against Hamas’s social media activities and activists which support the ongoing Jerusalem Intifada.
Several days ago, YouTube deleted a video showing Palestinian female worshippers who face daily aggression at Al-Aqsa Mosque at the hands of Israeli soldiers.
In a statement, YouTube said it had suspended the channel for a few hours when it deleted the video then it completely closed it on Sunday morning.
