On May 15, 2017, in Palestine, Watford and around the world we mark Nakba Day.
Consequences of expelling 750,000 people from their homes echoes down the decades. Showing solidarity in the UK is more important than ever. It is arguably high time that the British United Kingdom – which abandoned Palestine 69 years ago – took on some kind of responsibility for the future and people of Palestine.
British withdrawal from India at around the same time created a similar problem in the India-Pakistan border region of Jammu and Kashmir. Britain has responsibility here too.
We are holding a public meeting on “What Future for Palestine & Kashmir” to provide an opportunity to the main governmental parliamentary candidates to speak on this subject, and answer questions on other topics of interest from members of the public.
Prior to the public meeting – from 7.00 to 8.00 p.m. – we are holding a fund-raising meal to raise funds for a new school library in Farkha Primary School – near Salfeet – having already raised funds for a trauma recovery play room for the very youngest school children in Farkha to recover from the brutal military tactics of the Occupation Israel Army.

Refreshments will also be available, suggested donation of £10 per meal to cover costs.
It is time for a change from all the failed policies of the past. Let us hear some new ideas!
