The 23rd General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.Ο) Recommended in its sessions to terminate the Israeli occupation and to establish the Palestinian state on the borders of 1967.
The IAO convened in Thessaloniki from July 4 until July 8 on the central subject Fundamental Global Changes – Christian Orthodox Perspective.
It appealed in its conclusion appeals for termination of the Israeli occupation and recognition of the Palestinian state at the borders of 1967 with eastern Jerusalem as its capital, as the only way towards the implementation of the two-state solution and for permanent peace among all peoples of the region.
In the presence of the Presidents of the Hellenic Parliament and the Russian State Duma Mr. Nikolaos Voutsis and Mr. Sergey Naryshkin, the works of the 23rd annual General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (I.A.O.) were held in Thessaloniki, Greece with the participation of twenty six parliamentary delegations and groups of parliamentarians from different countries.
In the assembly, they studied the impacts of Israeli occupation and its violations of the International law on the Palestinian Orthodox.
