Europal Forum in collaboration with FOSIS Ireland successfully delivered a Lobbying and Advocacy training on Sunday 5th February in Dublin, Ireland.
The training course consisted of three specific areas designed to build skills and knowledge for lobbying and advocacy for Palestine in Ireland.
Speakers and trainers on the course included Zaher Birawi, Chair of EuroPal Forum; Richard Boyd Barrett, People Before Profit Alliance TD; Fatin Al Tamimi, Chair of Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign; Brendan Barrett, journalist; and Khaled Waleed, EuroPal Forum.
The training event included:
-A session on the Irish political system and mapping out the Irish political parties in relation to Palestine.
-A session on the role of NGOs in mobilising support for Palestine and mapping out the pro-Palestine NGOs in Ireland.
-Training on the role of media in mobilising support for Palestine and mapping out the pro-Palestine media outlets in Ireland.
-Training on how to become active on Palestine using the 'Activist Toolkit'
